2022 HBCU Trip
Our HBCU trip allows our scholars to opportunity to see themselves on different college campuses, to ask questions, and be exposed to the new experiences as we tour different areas of the country.
On Monday, July 11, we left with a group of 12 FUL high school scholars to travel East to visit five different historically black colleges and universities and historical African American sites across the county.
The purpose of this trip is to provide our scholars the opportunity to see themselves on different college campuses, to ask questions, and be exposed to the new experiences as we tour different areas of the country.
Our 2022 HBCU Trip itinerary included;
Day 1: Drive to Baltimore
Day 2: Morgan State/Coppin State/Bowie State
Day 3: Howard & Washington DC Landmarks
Day 4: Delaware State
Day 5: Drive back to Milwaukee
Altogether, chaperones clocked over 2,000 miles for each vehicle. Through all of the driving, our group experienced several "firsts", including experiencing Washington D.C.'s many wonders, and immersing ourselves in the Atlantic Ocean. Though we were drained upon our return to Milwaukee, the excitement from the experience with the scholars keeps us looking towards their endless possibilities.
